Another tooth, No Sleep and Homemade Curtains

Constance is finally getting in her last top middle tooth. Once it is in she will have two teeth on the bottom and four on the top. We did have one stressful teething day on Saturday but other than that she has been doing great.

We have had to set up the playpen (we also have named it "jail") for the times we need her to stay put while we run to the mailbox or bathroom or wherever. She is a fast crawler and every now and then she is not where we put her! At the moment, her play pen is a novelty and she does not mind playing in it.

Last week her schedule was amazing. She would eat her last meal at 8p.m. and be fast asleep in her crib by 9p.m. She would then sleep anywhere from 7a.m.-7:45a.m. Amazing! Last night however she did not get her very short evening nap and I started feeding my VERY tired baby at 7:30p.m. By 8:30ish I thought she was about done. However she opened her eyes and sat up! I got her to lay back on my lap and started rubbing her head hoping to get her to sleep. She stayed still for quite some time however she did not get back to sleep. After awhile Keith tried to lay her in her crib to see if she would go out on her own. That worked for a little while…then she became upset. I finally fed her again a little after 10p.m and by 10:30 she was asleep.

After visiting a couple who just had a baby, and being shown the nursery, I realized the one thing we were missing in Constance's room was cute curtains! My husband and I went to Wal-Mart to look at material and realized that we have different tastes when it comes to design! I wanted to get something a little on the girly side because most of her room is filled with gender neutral colors. Keith was not opposed to something girly he just did not want polka dots. We narrowed it down between jungle animals (which was not girly but very cute) and pink curtains with butterflies. We bought the pink curtains with butterflies. We still have all the work to do on them (i.e. cut and sew them, create the hooks and glue) but it will be worth the effort when we are done.

  1. The first photo looks like you are saying, "Be HEALED!" LOL!!! I love the playpen being called "jail." It is a necessity for her own protection, and your peace of mind, though! Can't wait to see the cute curtains.

    Love you bunches,
    Mom
