Words unspoken

This morning my little girl woke up, looked and me and said, "Uga ahhhh mmmm hee." I definitely believe she said, "Good morning, I love you mom." I have a smart baby! :)

She did it!

For those of you who follow my blog, you already know that for several months Constance could easily roll from her back to her belly. For a few months now she would try to roll from her belly to her back but could never quite get it. Yesterday evening she finally did it! It happened so quickly so I was thrilled that I even got to see it. Later that evening she did it one more time and Keith was able to watch! We are so proud!

We are home again

After a long trip to Mississippi we are back home again and getting into our normal routine once more. Constance did better then what we thought she would. It took about 5 hours to get down to Tupelo with a break in the middle to feed the baby. From there Constance visited with great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, grand parents, regular aunts and uncles, cousins, second cousins, and friends of the family. Everyone seemed delighted to meet her and spend time with the family. A special treat for me was that one uncle had four kittens who were only a few weeks old, another uncle had two kittens, three puppies and a dozen baby chicks! I will post some pictures of the trip later on this week.

Monday night, Constance was fighting sleep so Keith told me to take a break from trying to feed her and let him hold her. He was in bed with us reading the book, "The Shack." I agreed and placed the baby in the side of his arm. From there Constance started carrying on a conversation. We laughed about it and Keith would ask her to read one of the sentences in his book. She just stared at it, would turn to look at me and talk in her baby talk. I knew she was smart, but a five month old who can read! Wow! Hahaha.

Since being home she has done well in adjusting. She was a bit emotional last evening but for two nights has slept till a decent hour (7 a.m. the first night and 6 a.m. the second night)
