Scary Carwash=bad mommy

I am a bad mommy. Keith has wanted to wash our van for a few months now so I found $3and drove to our nearest car wash. It completely terrified Constance and there was nothing I could do but hold her hand, pray that the wash would end asap and talk to her telling her it was okay. I should have thought about the fact that it WAS loud and scary BEFORE going in. My poor baby. As soon as it was over I pulled over, got her out of the car seat and cuddled with her. That seemed to help. When we got home she was very clingy still so I was able to get some extra snuggle time in right before nap time.

  1. Oh poor thing! You did good though, Mommy. You were there for her and made sure she knew it was okay. New things take time to get used to and as long as she's got Mommy by her side she'll become more comfortable with things. Although I might wait a few more weeks before taking her again. I remember Elijah being nervous but I made funny noises; I think he then started associating the carwash with Mom being goofy. (As opposed to all those other times I was goofy.) And you're not a bad Mommy--you did good.

    Love you,
    Sissy

  2. Heather. I would like to give you one piece of advice with the car wash and Miss Constance. Next time please make sure the windows are rolled up! Good thing you didn't try and suck her up with the vacuum as well....

I am sure there will be a lot of things in her little life that will starle her but she will know that you and Keith are there to make it better. It will be okay... Love ya. DAD
